Overview

LifeOS is a local-first AI knowledge and workflow operating system. The goal is to turn scattered resources — notes, documents, conversations, and references — into a structured system that enables expert thinking, actionable decisions, and clear output.

The Problem

Most knowledge management systems are passive. They store information but don’t help you think with it. LifeOS is designed to be an active thinking partner: a system that knows your context, surfaces relevant knowledge, and helps you operate with more clarity.

Architecture

The system is built around three layers:

  1. Knowledge Layer — Local markdown notes, resources, and reference documents.
  2. Processing Layer — Local LLMs (Ollama) that index, summarize, and connect knowledge.
  3. Output Layer — Structured templates, expert modes, and actionable decision frameworks.

Status

Active development. Currently building the knowledge ingestion and expert mode system.

Key Technologies

  • Local LLMs via Ollama
  • Markdown-first knowledge graph
  • Structured prompt templates
  • Python automation scripts
